Everything Bagel Hummus

Say hello to your new addiction. May I present Everything Bagel hummus? The name says it all. Onion flakes, garlic powder, and poppy and sesame seeds on top of your own or store-bought hummus. Five minutes to make, an hour to enjoy, a lifetime to anticipate. How many things can you say that about?

How I never thought to put Everything Bagel seasoning on top of hummus is beyond me. I eat hummus by the bucketloads, truly. And, as you know, I put Everything Bagel seasoning on, well, as its name suggests, everything. These two are a match made in culinary nirvana. The onion, garlic, poppy seeds, and sesame seeds are a natural combo for the hummus.

The great thing about this recipe is it takes all of five minutes to throw together. (Ok, ok. Fifteen if you’re making your own hummus.) And because it is hummus, you can serve so many things alongside it: flatbread, crackers, tomato and cuke salad, deviled eggs, falafel. You can even throw it together when you have unexpected guests–and who isn’t yearning for unexpected guests these days? It can be a meal unto itself or a snack while you’re bingeing HBO’s The White Lotus.–David Leite

  • Scoop hummus into a bowl.

  • Stir half the Everything Bagel seasoning into hummus.

  • Swirl and swoop the top with a spoon to make valleys for the olive oil.

  • Sprinkle the rest of the Everything Bagel seasoning and a healthy pinch of Aleppo pepper over the top. Drizzle with olive oil.

  • Devour with pita or flatbread.
